The republicans are doing a lot of soul searching right now and the shake down looks as though it is becoming quite cannibalistic. With the ship on the rocks, it is rather interesting to see the RNC challenging one of John McCain’s defining bills. There has been a lot of GOP infighting in the three weeks since the election. The McCain camp has been placing blame on the Palin camp and both camps have been doing a lot of finger pointing at the RNC. Even Rove and his entourage of dark crusaders have been questioning the choices McCain made during the 2008 election.
The biggest victory for the public is seeing that the heavily negative campaign waged by the McCain/Palin ticket failed to sway substantial amount of voters. The more negative the campaign became, the more people seemed to gain comfort with the steadiness of Obama’s message. I hope this election changes the way marketers look at waging campaigns in the future. It is possible that the effectiveness of negative campaigning is waning.
The RNC will have a difficult time getting much credibility from me on their pursuit of challenging the reform bill. Their spending practices of the RNC during the campaign were a little suspect. Paying several hundred thousand dollars in shoes, pant suits, eye wear, and lipstick doesn’t make a candidate. It only succeeds in making late night television/Saturday Night Live that much more entertaining….
